Hi, my name is Isabel van de Stadt and I’m a graphic designer experimenting within a wide range of mediums and materials – including ceramics, textile, animation, photography and bookmaking. I like to work with a hands–on approach and an open mind. My work reflects my curiosity for themes like craftmanship, physics, perception, and form. Currenly I’m in my third year of the bachelor Graphic Design at ArtEZ Arnhem.
The Ceiling is on the Floor, Photo series, 2023
Inspired by magical realism and fascinated by weightlessness, I made images that explore and defy gravity. Using various practical effects – like rotating photos and hanging objects with transparent thread – I crafted a world where gravity behaves strangely and it is sometimes unclear what is the ceiling and what is the floor.
